Down County Museum Community History Project

The aim of this project is to build positive relations between and within communities in Down, North Down and Ards, through participation in programmes of activities which explore issues of cultural or community identity and diversity; promote learning about the beliefs, customs and traditions of different communities and explore the part played by local people and communities in world, national and regional movements and changes.

This resource enables users to find out more about how the local community in Millisle and Belfast played a vital role in helping Jewish young people during the Second World War. They can also explore issues of racism and prejudice.

The resource has been developed as part of Down County Museum’s Peace III Community History Project, which has been funded by the European Union’s PEACE III Programme, managed by the special EU Programmes Body and delivered by the North Down, Ards and Down Councils Cluster.
